A blessing for Ananya
Paśyema Śaradaḥ Śatam: A Hundred Autumns
tac cakṣur devahitaṁ purastāc chukram uccarat | paśyema śaradaḥ śataṁ jīvema śaradaḥ śataṁ śṛṇuyāma śaradaḥ śataṁ pra bravāma śaradaḥ śatam adīnāḥ syāma śaradaḥ śataṁ bhūyaś ca śaradaḥ śatāt ||
That radiant eye, ordained by the gods, rises in the east. May we see a hundred autumns; may we live a hundred autumns; may we hear a hundred autumns; may we speak a hundred autumns; may we stand unbowed for a hundred autumns, and beyond a hundred autumns.
Hear a Voiced sampleread by AshaAsha is our digital host. Her voice is digitally produced, and she is not a priest. She reads the words Pandit Arvind has reviewed and blessed. More about Asha.
See it, and hear it.
A real verse, made unmistakably theirs, explained in plain English. Choose Voiced or On video, and Asha reads it aloud, with their name at the head of it.
Their name: set at the head of the blessing as its dedication.
A real verse: quoted in Devanagari, word for word.
Explained plainly: transliteration to say it aloud, and its meaning beside it.
The source, named: printed on the page, the way a good book prints its sources.
Reviewed, by name: checked and signed by Pandit Arvind Narayan Shastri of Rishikesh.
One prayer. Three ways to give it.
The words never change: only how they reach the family.

What your ritual year includes
Where every word comes from.
We quote every verse word for word and name where it comes from: the text and the verse, or the tradition that carries it. The dedication is ours, and so is the plain English. We never write the verse. Every prayer carries the name of the priest who read it, Pandit Arvind Narayan Shastri of Rishikesh. If we cannot say where a verse comes from, we do not send it.
